Social Media

The primary goal of Social Media from a marketing standpoint is to engage, direct and provide value to a targeted community. One of the reasons that it is such a trending topic in marketing is because it made what was traditionally a one-way communication channel into a two-way channel by giving the customer the ability to be heard by the community. Social Media helped change the marketing mix by adding the 5th P: Participation to the previous 4 P’s: Product, Price, Promotion, and Place

The New Marketing Mix - Product, Price, Promotion, Place, and Participation

Engaging your community to participate via social media is one of the biggest trends of the late 00′s and is continuing to grow.  How to leverage these tools, which one’s and how often are questions that I have experience managing.  I’ve been fortunate enough to be a featured speaker on the topic.

Previous campaigns and experience include:

-Facebook

-Twitter

-Foursquare

-Tumblr

-SCVNGR

-Wikipedia

-Digg

-Stumbledupon

-Meetup

and the list goes on.  Social Media does represent the changing landscape in the way we consume information.  Social Media is a resource for your Content and Community Engagement Strategy by and large.
