<p>Many Marketers should be able to understand that when you do something as simple as create a Facebook Fan Page for a business brand and push a few buttons to connect them to a new world of possibilities that: it&#8217;s hard not to notice how empowered we&#8217;ve become with emerging technologies and, yes, social media (don&#8217;t worry this isn&#8217;t just about social media, not by a long stretch.)</p>
<p>When you download analytics data to populate charts and compare to sales data and media hits with a few pivot tables you might pause and reflect how it would take teams of people hours to do what you did in a few clicks.</p>
<p>The world of marketing has already changed, we all know that, but in this industrial sport, there are athletes and leaders.  These visionaries have access to resources and experience that provided them the knowledge to see further.  Who wouldn&#8217;t want their collective perspective and coaching?</p>
<p>I&#8217;ve lived in Los Angeles and worked in New York City.  I understand the respective resources between Hollywood and the Financial District.  However, living in the D.C. area and being originally from the area, I&#8217;m struck  by the resource that stands out here as an abundant competitive advantage &#8211; that being we have a constant influx of the world&#8217;s most strategic and educated thinkers!  We also have a special understanding of how knowledg needs to be applied in real time.  Current Events don&#8217;t stay that way.</p>

<p>My personal observation is that the vision of the <a href="http://ad2dc.org/">Ad 2 DC </a>is to serve as a beacon for empowerment for the young professionals of advertising in DC, and the <a href="http://www.dcadclub.com/">DC Ad Club</a> works hard to unify the greater community with a focus on the betterment and importance of advertising (you can read their official mission and much more on their websites.)</p>

<p>Karl put together an outreach strategy that received more than 10 direct press mentions (over the course of just a one-month contract) including a touching spot on ABC-7 Bay news.</p>

<p>A charitable event brand developed and an initial launch happy hour for the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN).</p>
<p>Once upon a time there was a brave little boy who was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma, a form of infancy and childhood cancer. He called cancer the beast. He thought that if he was tough enough, he could defeat the beast, so when he would go to chemo, he would dress as a pirate and he&#8217;d go in and hold up his play sword and say&#8221;KILL THE BEAST!&#8221; The little boy fought many battles in the war on cancer, but in the end he was no match for the beast. Kill The Beast will take up the fight for our little hero and for all Americans who have fought the beast!</p>
