Marketing

My favorite simple definition of Marketing is all activities associated with appropriate communication systems that lead to targeted sales and satisfied customers.
The American Marketing Association’s definition of Marketing is an organizational function and a set of processes for creating, communicating, and delivering value to customers and for managing customer relationships in ways that benefit the organization and its stakeholders.
More specifically and in the real world: The Senior / Executive Leadership (maybe that’s you) have a vision for the brand which lays out the framework and environment wherein the business goals dictate the Critical Initiatives which are measured by Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).
Marketing helps you meet your related (often sales or communication) KPI’s by directing your Sales, Advertising, Public Relations, Branding, Communications, Charitable Fundraising and Event Planning through Research, Planning, Project Management, Execution, Monitoring, Controlling, and Adapting the Product, Price Promotion, Place and Participation.
